Composed of a cucumber and silver duct tape, this playful and provocative work draws inspiration from Maurizio Cattelan’s iconic “Comedian” (2019), a banana duct-taped to a wall that captivated the art world and sparked global discussions on the nature of art. While undeniably influenced by Cattelan’s seminal piece, “Omaggio al Cetriolo” stands as an entirely original creation, celebrating art’s ability to provoke thought and create meaningful impact.
Accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity (COA), this work’s proceeds will serve a purpose beyond the gallery. Churchill Auctioneers will donate 100% of the hammer price to Thame Youth Projects, a local charity dedicated to enriching the lives of young people in the Thame community. In a further gesture of goodwill, no buyer’s premium will be applied to this lot.
