Edouard Leon Cortes (French, 1882 – 1969), oil on canvas painting entitled “The City of Light, the Opera House”, a view from Boulevard des Capucines looking north, signed lower right, within period swept pattern frame, complete with original receipt from Gladwell & Co Limited of London dated 11th January 1955, original price £99.15s, has been in the same family ever since this receipt, overall size including frame.
